Alicante (The Grand Start)

Alicante has been the beating heart of the event since 2008, and in January 2027, it will proudly launch its sixth consecutive edition. This Mediterranean hub is the global headquarters and home of The Ocean Race Museum. The 15th edition begins here with a historic 14,000-nautical-mile sprint to Auckland - the longest opening leg in the race's 53-year history - connecting the innovation of the Valencian Digital District with the protected beauty of the Tabarca Island Marine Reserve.
